BDA offers the Maryland Driver's Ed. Course via online platform
Click on the classes menu up top and decide on morning, evening or weekend course. Decide on a course date/time, then click on Register Button. BDA is a Maryland Motor Vehicle (MVA) Licensed & Certified Driving School.
Registration & Payment Options are Listed Below:
*Option 1: $420 full tuition which includes 30 Hours of online training & the 6 Hours Behind-the-Wheel (BTW) training.
*Option 2: The $210 payment plan option allows you to split the payments by paying $210 to register and start classes and the remainder of $210 the following week (Monday) before class graduation if you are enrolled in the 2-week morning or evening online course. If you are enrolled in the weekend course, the second payment of $210 is due by the third week of class.
*Option 3: $300 This is the online class option only, which allows the student to pay $300 for the online (30 Hours ) only and then register for the BTW (6-hours) driving lab at a later date and time.
*BTW Lab cost: $210. This option gives the student more flexibility with payment because the student picks the date and time they wish to register and pay for the BTW driving lab. This BTW Lab is for BDA students who completed one of the online classes (morning, evening, or weekend).
NOTE: If you (DID NOT) complete one of BDA's online 30-hour training (morning, evening, or weekend classes) and wish to schedule BTW training, you would need to contact us to register for the private lessons option.
Online training: students can login to the online training via personal computer, iPad, or cell phone. During the training, the instructor must be able to physically see students via personal computer, iPad, or cell phone video camera. Students cannot post a picture or record a video recording as a substitute for actual presence, the student's face must be live, present during the online class. Once a student completes the thirty (30) hours of online training then the student will register via our website to complete the six (6) hours Behind the Wheel training (BTW). BTW training will be conducted in Best Driving Academy's cars equipped with brakes on the passenger side of the car.
Maryland requirement for BTW training is six (6) hours. Student will drive with us four (4) times, each drive will be 1.5 hours. Once student completes the 6 hours of BTW training BDA will electronically enter the student's information in the MVA system as complete.
Most students will complete the MVA requirement to take the driving skills test to get their provisional license after completing the 6 hours BTW training with us, and we highly encourage students to complete this requirement once the online 30 hours training is completed (before 12 months has passed from the online graduation date).
If a student fails to complete the 6 hours BTW training within 12 months from the student's online 30 hours training graduation date a reinstatement fee $100 is required to keep student record active.

Maryland's Graduated Licensing System (GLS) process:
Three (3) stage process: Learner's permit, Provisional, Full License
Step 1: Student gets learner's permit then go through a certified driver's education course consisting of (30) hours online or classroom instruction and six (6) hours behind the wheel instruction training.
NOTE: student does not need to have a learner's permit to go through driver's education, but student should be 15 yrs of age and 9 months.
Step 2: Once student completes everything in step 1, the Maryland driving school will electronically submit verification of completion to the MVA. Then student now qualifies to go to the MVA to take the driving skills test to get the provisional license.
NOTE: Student must hold the learner's permit for the required amount of time based on the student's age (see chart above).
Step 3: Provisional License is obtained by passing the driving skills test, which consist of demonstrating: Parking & Backing into a parking spot and a road test. Once student passes the driving skills test the providional license will be issued. Students are required to hold the provisional for eighteen (18) months.
Step 4: Once the student has held the provisional license for eighteen (18) months, and the student did not receive any citations (tickets) in this time frame the full license will be issued to the student. The MVA will take the student's picture from the provisional license & will put it on the full license then will send the full license to the student via mail. So, student is not required to go back to the MVA to pay additional fees for the provisional nor is the student required to go back to the MVA to take a new picture for the provisional license.
